jaspamaster: (Excuse Me?)
Answered a job add for Pratt in Brooklyn and just received an email telling me I didn't get the position, I did make it into the second round of applicants which is very nice to hear considering the diverse nature of the job skills they were looking for.

It still sucks!

I keep reading about how the job market is booming and yet i barely know anyone with a new job! Everyone I know who has steady work and by that I mean are not working at Starbucks or billions of Temp jobs were employed prior to 9/11 or are in very specific fields of work (This is not an absolute but an overall trend) or are younger and just out of college.

Outside of the few small temporary jobs ive managed to get over the last couple of years which have become not on so much regular as simply less a feeling of luck or friends but actual sending out a resume and getting a non bullshit response from an employer testing the applicant market as opposed to seriously looking for someone to fill a position.

The amount of "Please forward us your resume and your salary requirement " Job adds has fallen off drastically, these are really not worth responding to since the moment you tell them your requirements like a reasonable or even a sub minimal salary you've priced yourself right out of the race.
they really are looking for a kid out of college they can pay nothing to.

All i can do is keep sending out resumes but at this rate i feel i will have to join the true growing job market of our bushist neoconservative state and get work at wendy's like the rest of the Americans.
