Its dark out there

Got stuck all the way out at sutphin at the end of queens had to walk back to the union turnpike
Finally walked over the trains to get back into our area and home.
Very weird last time I had to walk like that was 9/11 and it was walking up from 8th st back into queens across the 59th street bridge.

Wanted to call to see if my Friends were all right but all my numbers are locked in my silent as a crypt computer.
Got home and couldn't call anyone except those numbers I had in my head which were just family and that was it.
I have to back up all my phone books into paper form once a month now or something like that so i cant get shut down by our reliance on electricity anymore.
I think that the last 2 disasters have shown me that we have become so linked into a reliance on not just electricity but the mentality of pushbutton instant gratification that turns us into the "marching morons" from philip K dick.
Suddenly the ability to light a gas stove because the power is off becomes a task equal to einstein because since the electric lighter wont work the there is no longer a way to ignite the gas.
How simple and how fast we are to forget to just use a lighter or a match.
